NATURALEZA MUERTA is the artistic project in which Isabela is currently working. It questions the appropriation and representation, perhaps, with a perverse use of wild fauna and certain endangered species. NATURALEZA MUERTA is a series of photographs of public spaces in Florida where Nature is represented with an apparent work of homage and awareness. Our contemporary society is determined to generate a series of artifacts that recreates Nature so that we can buy it. The consumers society understands that using similarities with the natural promotes the acquisition of Nature when in reality we are destroying it with all the residue generated by certain aggressive, invasive and polluting representation techniques and the impact that this generates on the environment. It seems that we prefer to enjoy the consumption of Nature through its images and an idealized/domesticated representation of it, ignoring two truly important facts: on the one hand, the very existence of Fauna and, on the other, how we live in the world of images that surround us and the way in which they affect us, constrain us or revolt us.
